Church, Hall and Community Building Roof Repairs
Community buildings almost always need the work phased around funding and around use. That changes how a roof job should be planned — priority first, cosmetics later.

- Slate, tile, lead and parapet gutter work
- Phased schemes to match funding rounds
- Written condition reports for grant applications
- Work planned around services and bookings
- Traditional materials and detailing
- Quotes broken down by priority
Prioritised, phased quoting
We survey the whole roof and split findings into what must be done this year to stop water getting in, what should follow within a few years, and what is cosmetic. That structure is what a grant committee or PCC needs to make a decision, and it means limited funds get spent where they actually protect the building.
Parapet gutters and lead
Older halls and churches leak at parapet gutters, valley gutters and abutments far more often than in the field of the roof. These are leadwork jobs: correct code, correct bay lengths, drips and rolls formed properly, outlets sized and clear. Patching a parapet gutter with bitumen paint is common and buys almost nothing.
- ▸Parapet and valley gutter renewal
- ▸Outlet and rainwater goods capacity
- ▸Abutment and tower flashings
Working around the building's use
We plan around services, hires and term-time use, keep access routes safe for public users, and provide the documentation your insurers and trustees expect. Where lead theft is a concern we can discuss alternative materials and marking as part of the specification.
FAQs
Can you provide a report for a grant application?+
Yes — a written condition report with photographs and a prioritised schedule of works, which is normally what funders ask for.
Do you work on listed churches?+
We work to the agreed specification under whatever consent regime applies, alongside the architect or surveyor appointed to the building.
Can the work be split across financial years?+
Yes — that's how most of these schemes run, and we quote in phases that stand alone.
