Why leadwork matters

Most roof leaks aren't through the tiles — they're through poor flashings. Properly formed, welded and dressed lead is what keeps your roof watertight at every junction, chimney, valley and abutment.

Lead welding — our speciality

We weld lead on site to form clean, seamless joints in bay roofs, dormers, gutters and bespoke pieces — far stronger and more reliable than overlapping or bonded alternatives. It's a traditional craft and our USP.

  • Cover, step and apron flashings
  • Lead-lined box gutters and valleys
  • Bay window and dormer roofs
  • Cathedral and feature lead detailing

Repair & replace

Old, split or fatigued lead is a common source of damp. We replace tired flashings with the correct code lead, properly clipped and dressed for decades of service.

FAQs

What code of lead do you use?+

It depends on the application — Code 4 for most flashings, Code 5 for valleys and abutments, Code 6+ for bay/dormer roofs and box gutters. We use the right code for the job.

How long does lead last?+

Properly installed lead has a working life of 100+ years. Failures are almost always due to poor original detailing rather than the material itself.
