Built the traditional way

Whether you've got a Victorian slate roof, a 1930s clay-tiled semi or a modern concrete-tile new build, we work with the original detailing in mind. Every roof is stripped, prepared and laid to manufacturer specification with breathable membrane, treated battens and stainless or copper fixings.

Repairs done right

Many roof problems start with a single slipped tile or a failed ridge. We diagnose the cause, not just the symptom — re-bedding ridges, replacing broken tiles, patching valleys and renewing flashings so the repair lasts.

  • Single tile replacements
  • Ridge & hip re-bedding (or dry verge upgrades)
  • Valley and abutment repairs
  • Roof inspection reports for buyers/sellers

Full reroofs

When repairs no longer make sense we'll quote a full strip and reroof — including new felt, battens, insulation upgrades where appropriate, and renewed lead flashings to every junction.

FAQs

Tile vs slate — which is better?+

Both have a place. Natural slate is lighter, longer-lasting and looks beautiful on period properties; clay or concrete tile is typically more cost-effective and suits most modern homes.

How long does a new pitched roof last?+

Clay and natural slate roofs can last 80–100+ years when well laid; concrete tile typically 50–60 years. Flashings and ridges may need attention sooner.
