Porch roofs sit against the main house wall — that joint is the weak point. The original lead apron rusts the clips, lifts in wind, and lets water track behind the render straight into the porch ceiling. The roof covering itself is usually fine.
Flat porch vs pitched porch — different fixes
A flat felt porch usually wants stripping back to deck and re-covering in EPDM with a fresh Code 4 lead apron. A pitched tiled porch normally just needs the abutment lead and verge mortar refreshed — much cheaper, often £300–£500.
