uPVC vs aluminium — when each makes sense
uPVC (£35–£55/m fitted) is right for most standard semis. Cast-iron-effect aluminium (£75–£120/m fitted) is worth it on period properties. Seamless aluminium has fewer joints to fail.
What we always replace at the same time
Brackets at 800mm centres (not 1m like the old stuff), new outlet boots, and any rotten fascia behind. Hanging new gutter on rotten fascia is a job we won't do.
FAQs
Do I have to replace the downpipes too?+
Not always — if sound and the colour matches, we can keep them. Often cleaner to do the lot in one visit.
Can you match my neighbour's colour?+
Yes — uPVC comes in white, black, brown, grey and anthracite. Aluminium can be powder-coated to any RAL.
